Greenland 22°C degrees hotter than normal, the Canadian and Siberian permafrost melting with unprecedented speed, local populations facing new challenges to survive, the European climate under the impact of the changing Arctic - the Arctic is ever more in the headlines. The EU-funded Arctic research projects met in Brussels to discuss synergies and common strategies to boost their impact on policy and people.

The Arctic Research Icebreaker Consortium (ARICE) and Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) invite for a webinar on Proposal Writing, on 25 April 9-10 am GMT. The webinar is organized in two parts.

In the first part, Research Support Officer Imke Fries (Alfred Wegener Institute) will give a general introduction to successful proposal writing. Imke has been supporting the drafting of numerous national and EU project proposals and will provide tips and tricks on successful proposal writing.

The full ARICE consortium met on 28th and 29th April 2019 at Instituto de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território (IGOT), Universidade de Lisboa for its 2nd General Assembly. Fourty participants from all over Europe, Canada and USA discussed the progress made in ARICE and planned it´s future activities, such as the next call for ship-time which will open in April 2019.
