Abstract: Water sample profiles were collected using a CTD rosette at 26 stations through the Northwest Passage and in the Amundsen Gulf in 2007. Samples were transferred to serum vials, poisoned with HgCl2 and sealed with gas-tight crimp caps. Analysis was performed using a gas chromatograph equipped with a PFPD (pulsed flame photometric detector) optimized for the detection of nitrogen. Note that similar sampling in Baffin Bay and the Kane Basin area is planned for 2008. This data catalogues profiles of N2O in Canadian arctic waters to evaluate the importance of this region to global sea-air N2O fluxes.
